Genetics

When we started The Hedgehog Program, we launched a major project into discovering the genetic colors of African Pygmy Hedgehogs and this project is already concluded. However, we are not closing this project, because there is plenty other species that have fascinating colors as well and we are more then happy to also conduct research into these other species. The genetics research helps breeders distinguish different colors, but also help prevent breeding colors that might bear some concerns regarding hedgehog health.
